Use: Designed and developed for Dismounted EOD and Combat Engineer Operations in hostile environments. The MithiX Pro Folding EOD Grapnel was initially designed for semi-remote movement of potential hazards in operator's paths such as IEDs, trip wires, command wires, animal carcasses and other debris that could contain or conceal booby-traps or other hazards. Can also be used for campers, hikers, hunters and other outdoor enthusiasts for basic rigging. Description: Small, rugged and lightweight design made from precision-machined, black anodized aluminum with steel bushings, bolts and take-down pin. Grapnel folds conveniently down to approximately 7" long and 2" diameter to fit in small pouches or cargo pockets. Opens/deploys in seconds by pulling the pin, lifting the support ring, allowing the legs to deploy, and dropping the support ring to the lower position and re-pinning. Can be deployed with carabiners, slings, snap rings or by simply tying rope/line to the integrated attachment hole or by any other rigging means. Tested in-line, break strength of 250 lbs on one arm engagement and over 500 lbs on two arm engagement (ask us about our new extra heavy duty Outdoorsman Grapnel coming soon!)
